Abstract: The title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C15H14NO2)], is a monoclinic polymorph of the previously reported triclinic form [Shi et al. (2006). Acta Cryst. C62, m407–m410]. The polymorphs feature the same strong intramolecular N—H...O=C hydrogen bonds, but show different packing modes. The molecules in the monoclinic form associate into double chains via O—H...O=C and (Cp)C—H...O—H interactions.

Influence of sevoflurane and propofol on the neuromuscular block effect of cisatracurium

Abstract: Objective To investigate the influence of propofol target controlled infusion anesthesia(TIVA) and sevoflurane anesthesia on the neuromuscular block effect of cisatracurium.Methods Sixty ASA class Ⅰ or Ⅱ patients,scheduled for ENT(ears,nose,throat) surgery were randomly divided into four groups of equal number to receive either 0.1mg/kg cisatracurium under sevoflurane(SA) or propofol TIVA(PA),or 0.15mg/kg cisatracurium under sevoflurane(SB) or propofol TIVA(PB).The bispectral index(BIS) was between 40 and 50 during maintenance of anesthesia.Thumb adductorius contractile response was monitored with TOF stimulation.Neuromuscular blocking variables included onset time(T0),no-response time(TR0),the time to recovery of T1 to 5%,25%,75% and 95% of control(T5,T25,T75,T95),the TOF ratio to70%(TR70) and recovery index(RI) were monitored.Results No difference was found in the onset time between groups PA and SA,and groups PB and SB(P > 0.05).The unresponsive time was prolonged by 62% in group SA compared with PA,and 26% in group SB compared with PB(P < 0.05).The time of T1 recovering 75% of the control(T75) was prolonged by 45% in group SA compared with PA,and 29% in group SB compared with PB(P < 0.05).The time of T1 recovering 95% of the control value(T95) was prolonged by 47% in group SA compared with PA,and 36% in group SB compared with PB(P < 0.05).The recovery index(RI) was prolonged by 33% in group SA compared with PA,and 48% in group SB compared with PB(P < 0.05).Conclusion Compared with propofol TIVA,sevoflurane anesthesia may enhance the neuromuscular block effect of cisatracurium and significantly prolong the clinical recovery duration of cisatracurium.
Interference of suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 promotes epithelial-mesenchymal transition in MHCC97H cells

Abstract: AIM: To investigate the role of suppressor of cytokine signaling 3 (SOCS3) silencing in epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) involved in a human hepatocellular carcinoma MHCC97H cell line. METHODS: MHCC97H cells were transiently transfected with SOCS3 small-interfering RNA (siRNA). Morphological changes of the transfected cells were observed under microscope. Expressions of E-cadherin, Vimentin and α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA) were identified with immunofluorescence. Furthermore, protein expressions and mRNA levels of characteristic markers of EMT (E-cadherin, Vimentin, α-SMA and Snail) were detected by Western blotting, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) levels in the supernatant were measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. RESULTS: The transfected cells with SOCS3 siRNA showed a morphological alteration from a typical cobblestone morphology to mesenchymal spindle-shaped and fusiform features. SOCS3 siRNA lessened immunofluorescent expression of E-cadherin, but elicited immunofluorescent expressions of Vimentin and α-SMA in MHCC97H cells. More importantly, compared with the negative control, depletion of SOCS3 resulted in the decrease of the epithelial marker E-cadherin (P < 0.05), and the increase of the mesenchymal markers Vimentin and α-SMA and the transcription factor Snail in MHCC97H cells (P < 0.05). Moreover, compared with the negative control, SOCS3 siRNA evidently enhanced TGF-β1 secretion in MHCC97H cells (200.20 ± 29.02 pg/mL vs 490.20 ± 92.43 pg/mL, P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: SOCS3 silencing is able to promote EMT in MHCC97H cells via changing the phenotypic characteristics and modulating the characteristic markers.
A Mechanism of Exciting Planetary Inclination and Eccentricity through a Residual Gas Disk

Abstract: Accordling to the theory of Kozai resonance, the initial mutual inclination between a small body and a massive planet in an outer circular orbit is as high as $\sim39.2^{\circ}$ for pumping the eccentricity of the inner small body. Here we show that, with the presence of a residual gas disk outside two planetary orbits, the inclination can be reduced as low as a few degrees. The presence of disk changes the nodal precession rates and directions of the planet orbits. At the place where the two planets achieve the same nodal processing rate, vertical secular resonance would occur so that mutual inclination of the two planets will be excited, which might trigger the Kozai resonance between the two planets further. However, in order to pump an inner Jupiter-like planet, the conditions required for the disk and the outer planet are relatively strict. We develop a set of evolution equations, which can fit the N-body simulation quite well but be integrated within a much shorter time. By scanning the parameter spaces using the evolution equations, we find that, a massive planet ($10M_J$) at 30AU with $6^o$ inclined to a massive disk ($50M_J$) can finally enter the Kozai resonance with an inner Jupiter around the snowline. And a $20^{\circ}$ inclination of the outer planet is required for flipping the inner one to a retrograde orbit. In multiple planet systems, the mechanism can happen between two nonadjacent planets, or inspire a chain reaction among more than two planets. This mechanism could be the source of the observed giant planets in moderate eccentric and inclined orbits, or hot-Jupiters in close-in, retrograde orbits after tidal damping.
How to reach the orbital configuration of the inner three planets in HD 40307 Planet System ?

Abstract: The formation of the present configuration of three hot super-Earths in the planet system HD 40307 is a challenge to dynamical astronomers. With the two successive period ratios both near and slightly larger than 2, the system may have evolved from pairwise 2:1 mean motion resonances (MMRs). In this paper, we investigate the evolutions of the period ratios of the three planets after the primordial gas disk was depleted. Three routines are found to probably result in the current configuration under tidal dissipation with the center star, they are: (i) through apsidal alignment only; (ii) out of pairwise 2:1 MMRs, then through apsidal alignment; (iii) out of the 4:2:1 Laplace Resonance (LR) , then through apsidal alignment. All the three scenarios require the initial eccentricities of planets $\sim0.15$, which implies a planetary scattering history during and after the gas disk was depleted. All the three routines will go through the apsidal alignment phase, and enter a state with near-zero eccentricities finally. We also find some special characteristics for each routine. If the system went through pairwise 2:1 MMRs at the beginning, the MMR of the outer two planets would be broken first to reach the current state. As for routine (iii), the planets would be out of the Laplace Resonance at the place where some high-order resonances are located. At the high-order resonances 17:8 or 32:15 of the planets c and d, the system will possibly enter the current state as the final equilibrium.

Abstract: In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Cu2(N3)2(C16H15N5)2(H2O)2](NO3)2, the CuII ion is in a distorted octahedral coordination environment with long axial Cu—Nazide [2.821 (6) ] and Cu—Owater [2.747 (5) ] bonds as a result of the Jahn–Teller effect. Two symmetry-related azide ligands bridge in μ2-modes giving a Cu...Cu distance of 3.533 (2) . In the crystal, N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional network. In addition, there are weak intermolecular C—H...N hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking interactions with centroid–centroid distances ranging from 3.562 (2) to 3.974 (2) .

Abstract: A new epoxy-cadinane sesquiterpene, 4β,5β-epoxycadinan-1β-ol (1), and six known cadinane sesquiterpenes: cadinan-1,4,5-triol (2), 4α,5β-dihydroxycubenol (3), cubenol (4), cadinan-3-ene-1,5-diol (5), cubenol-3-one (6), and torreyol (7), were isolated from a sample of marine brown alga Dictyopteris divaricata collected off the coast of Yantai (China). Their structures were established by detailed MS and NMR spectroscopic analysis, as well as comparison with literature data.

Increased Number of Tc17 and Correlation with Th17 Cells in Patients with Immune Thrombocytopenia

Abstract: Background IL-17-secreting CD8+ T cells (Tc17 subset) have recently been defined as a subpopulation of effector T cells implicated in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases. The role of Tc17 and correlation with Th17 cells in the pathophysiology of immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) remain unsettled. Design and Methods We studied 47 ITP patients (20 newly-diagnosed and 27 with complete response) and 34 healthy controls. IL-17-producing CD3+CD8+ cells (Tc17) and IL-17-producing CD3+CD8? cells (Th17) were evaluated by flow cytometry and expressed as a percentage of the total number of CD3+ cells. Specific anti-platelet glycoprotein (GP) GPIIb/IIIa and/or GPIb/IX autoantibodies were measured by modified monoclonal antibody specific immobilization of platelet antigens. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells of ITP patients were isolated, incubated in the presence of 0, 0.25, 0.5, or 1 μmol/L of dexamethasone for 72 h, and collected to detect Tc17 and Th17 cells by flow cytometric analysis. Results IL-17 was expressed on CD3+CD8? and CD3+CD8+ T cells. The percentages of Tc17 and Th17 cells in newly-diagnosed patients were significantly elevated compared to controls, and Tc17 was decreased after clinical treatment. The Th17:Tc17 ratio was significantly lower in newly-diagnosed patients compared with controls, and was increased in patients who had complete response. There was a significantly positive correlation between Tc17 and Th17 cells in the control group, but not in the ITP patients. A positive correlation existed between Tc17 and the CD8:CD4 ratio, as well as CD8+ cells in patients with ITP. The frequencies of Tc17 were marginally higher in autoantibody-negative patients than autoantibody-positive patients. Moreover, both Tc17 and Th17 cell percentages decreased as the concentration of dexamethasone in the culture media increased in ITP patients. Conclusions Tc17 and the Th17 subset are involved in the immunopathology of ITP. Blocking the abnormally increased number of Tc17 may be a reasonable therapeutic strategy for ITP.
